The Department of War (DoW, formerly known as the Department of Defense, DoD) awards billions each year in non-dilutive R&D funding, and takes no equity and no IP in return. Successful proposals depend on understanding how the program actually works.
This free 90-minute workshop walks you through: which DoW component fits your technology, how to read a solicitation, what reviewers look for, and the compliance mistakes that sink otherwise strong proposals. You'll leave knowing whether DoW SBIR/STTR is a fit for your company and what your next step is.
What you'll learn
How to navigate the DoW SBIR/STTR program and find related funding opportunities
How to read solicitation requirements, deadlines, and review processes
Whether your company meets eligibility and registration requirements
What separates a competitive proposal from one that gets screened out
How the DoW components differ, and how to match your technology to the right one
Who should attend
Founders and small business owners with an R&D-focused technology, researchers exploring commercialization, and anyone who has considered SBIR/STTR and wasn't sure where to start. No prior federal funding experience needed.
The DoW's SBIR program is part of America's Seed Fund, the largest source of non-dilutive capital for early-stage innovation in the U.S. The Department funds technologies that strengthen national security, improve readiness, and expand Warfighter capabilities. Competing well means understanding agency priorities, knowing how Army, Navy, and Air Force programs differ, and maintaining compliance throughout the contracting process.
