USRIA Joins NSF-Backed RETI Engine to Power the Future of American Industrial Energy
The U.S. Research Impact Alliance (USRIA) is proud to be a collaborator alongside West Virginia University, Carnegie Mellon University, and The University of Pittsburgh-led RETI Consortium, which has been awarded a U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) Regional Innovation Engine grant.
Announced by NSF on July 14, 2026, the RETI Consortium is one of 12 teams selected nationwide, across 20 states, in the program’s newest cohort.
With more than 60 regional and national partners, the RETI Consortium will build the nation’s next leading industrial energy innovation hub. As America faces surging demand for power, grid resiliency is critical. The RETI Consortium’s mission is to help solve the nation’s challenges related to grid resilience and industrial energy efficiency
